Hydroelectricity
If this amount of power were to be produced by fossil fuels, almost two million tons of CO2 would have been emitted in to the atmosphere each year.
We run four river power plants in Glomma, Norway’s largest water shed, two river power plants in the Halden water shed, two more in the Skien water shed and one river power plant in the river Andelva.
We have ownership i power plants on several locations in Southern Norway, our ownership in Opplandskraft being the most important. Akershus Energi has 21% ownership in Norsk Grønnkarft, which runs and builds small hydroelectric power plants.
Over the next decade Akershus Energi will invest 1.000 MNOK in our power plants in order to increase our production by 350 GWh.
Our wholly- and partially-owned power stations are spread across the entire of Southern Norway. To learn more about each of them, go to the links in the left margin.
